We said goodbye to our 100 year old 3200 SF home in the heart of Fayetteville.
At times we might miss Our Old House, but the missing is worth it. The sale of Our Old House is going to fund Our New Adoption.
We plan to adopt from Asia. Nearly all of our dossier is complete and we mailed off our completed home study with our 800a application Wednesday. I turned 30 this month and Daniel will be 30 in December. We are getting so close!
We are adopting through Heartsent Adoptions, which we learned about through dear friends who shared orphan advocacy through Bringing Hope to Children. We followed a child and have been pleased with where we landed.
We are also in the early stages of purchasing land and planning to build a much smaller home nestled on an organic farm along the White River in rural Northwest Arkansas. So we changed our blog spot to better fit where we'll be.
Change is good.
Our rent house with the beautiful view was originally leased month-to-month which suited us and our landlords. A few weeks ago after sending in a big chunk of our dossier to our agency, we requested to extend our lease until May. Eight days later our landlords received an offer on the house. God really protected us with the timing. Having to move AGAIN and redo our dossier would have brought on weeping and gnashing of teeth. So, we are out of here for sure by the end of May when this house will be sold to its new owners.
This means that we hope to have our new house livable by the end of May. We will share building updates as they emerge. We'll see how our plan to build turns out, and you're welcome to follow along for all the nitty gritty details.
House stuff. Adopting. All too familiar in a good, good way.
