We made it!
Quick itinerary recap: Thursday drove to Tulsa to stay the night before our early Friday flight. There were two Hiltons in Tulsa and I picked the wrong one using expedia. Thankfully Hilton waived the cancellation fee and we didn't have to sleep in the car. Made our Friday morning flight to Ohare (which had a little bit of that windy city weather but not too bad) and then our connecting flight to Beijing. That flight to Beijing was possibly the smoothest flight I've ever been on. Thank you Jesus.
We stayed in Beijing for a night and saw a quick view of some amazing architecture and perhaps equally amazing evasive maneuvers on the road. We arrived at Hohhot early this morning China time. Our flights were nice and smooth-thank you friends and family for praying! Eva tolerated the airport lines and jostling and flights extremely well. Not surprising. Love that gal.
Side note, we have spotty internet so I'm posting from an iPhone 4:)
We meet Audrey Mae tomorrow afternoon. Like I said, we have been doing a lot of pre-praying for this trip...and we're still praying, and would love to have prayers from friends and family. Nothing like the international adoption of your second special needs child to remind you of your dependence on God. Or maybe it's simply parenting that is the reminder?
We haven't explored much but what we have seen of Beijing and Hohhot is beautiful and fascinating. We are immersed and feel the weight of being foreigners and a minority. We are still trying to get ourselves adjusted to china time and haven't taken many pictures nor ventured out without out coordinator. In fact, we ordered room service for dinner.
I think pictures will come tomorrow. Goodnight!
