The Dust has Settled

Arrived Tuesday.  Wednesday and Thursday Audrey was sick, and today, praise the Lord, she's better.  So we emerged.  We ran errands and drove out to see The Dabney House.

Getting two not-walking-yet gals into their carseats is not for the faint of heart.  Our rental isn't accessible at all so we haven't looked into a wheelchair yet and Eva is still so small it's easier to just carry her.  But now there are two.  And naturally, neither wants to be left on the sofa while the other is loaded into the car.  Rapid, panicky thoughts of forever abandonment fly through their heads and they become sad and distraught-which leaves me carrying both at the same time.  It's an interesting process.  If I had a selfie stick glued to my head I'd video it for your entertainment.

The drive out to the Dabney House is beautiful in a way that only Northwest Arkansas is.  Makes my knees go weak.  But today we took a different route because the low water bridge was flooded.  When we did arrive, it was worth the detour.  Our Dabney House is drywalled and painted!  It's getting closer to completion!  I wish the completion fairy would visit us.

The gals.  Eva loves to perch on the floor and Audrey does not.  It offends her.

And here's the girls sleeping.  Just can't help creeping.  It's too sweet.  Audrey continues to be eager to help Eva out.  And Eva likes to have Audrey in sight.  Eva does not particularly like to share a bed, but we're going to try it for now.  It helps to get them both on the same sleeping schedule.  And sleep is good. I miss it.

Happy Friday!
